At TRG, we take immense pride not only in our professional achievements but also in the accomplishments within our extended community. We wanted to highlight a significant milestone for Aiden, the son of our administration officer, Alyce, who represented the AFL State School Boys 15’s at the national championships on the Gold Coast in July 2024.
Aiden’s Journey to the Championships
Aiden’s journey to the AFL State School Boys 15’s Championships is nothing short of remarkable. Selected from over 800 candidates who trialled across the state earlier in the year, Aiden, an underage athlete, showcased extraordinary talent and dedication. Being chosen to represent his state at such a young age is a testament to his skills and determination.
A Undefeated Triumph for Western Australia
The championships, held from 27 July to 3 August 2024, saw the Western Australia team emerge undefeated, winning all five of their games. The most exciting and historic victory came in the Grand Final, where Western Australia triumphed over Victoria. This win marked the first time in 14 years that Western Australia has taken home the prestigious trophy, further highlighting the significance of their achievement.

Insights into the AFL State School Boys 15’s Championships
The Australian Football 15 years and under boys’ championship, part of the School Sport Australia (SSA) programme, is a celebrated event in the national junior sports calendar. Participating states included ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, and WA, as well as a combined Lions & Suns Academy Team. The event was held at various notable venues, such as Carrara Saints AFL Club, Broadbeach Cats AFL Club, and Southport Sharks AFL Club.
