Mo Zainudin

Learn about what motivates the TRG Team in this month’s Meet The TRG Team with Mo Zainudin

At TRG, we’re proud to have a team of dedicated professionals who bring diverse experience and fresh perspectives to the industry. In this staff spotlight, we catch up with Mo Zainudin, a valued member of our team based at Roy Hill.

Mo’s journey into the OTR tyre industry was influenced by both family and curiosity. After working in employment services, he discovered the opportunities in mining and made the switch—bringing with him a strong work ethic and a passion for learning.

With three years of experience working on tyres from LVs to 63-inch giants, Mo has already built a solid foundation in the field. Now, he’s keen to expand his knowledge, particularly in tyre logistics and cost management. We spoke with Mo about his background, what drives him, and his goals for the future at TRG.

1. What inspired you to join TRG, and what excites you most about your new role?

A few of my mates were working at TRG and I heard good things about the company and the family-friendly rosters which prompted me to join.

2. Can you share a bit about your professional background and experience in the industry?

I have about 3 years of experience in the tyre industry. I have worked on different tyres that range from LV’s to 63-inch tyres. I have worked on disc and cleat wheel assemblies at BHP, Citic Pacific and FMG sites during my career. I am now based at Roy Hill, which is the busiest site I have worked on.

3. What motivated you to pursue a career in OTR Tyre Management?

Previously, I was working in employment services, helping people find jobs and that’s how I found out about the mining industry, which made me look into it. My brother works in the tyre industry, this was a driving factor for me to pursue a new career path with TRG.

4. What do you hope to achieve or accomplish during your time with TRG?

The site that I work on has a range of machinery. I plan to learn and specialise in the different areas. I am interested in learning more about the logistics of tyre management.

5. Can you describe a project or achievement from your previous experience that you’re particularly proud of?

At my previous company, I had times when my leading hand was away, and I had to step into that leadership role and train the trainees that were allocated to my site. This included making sure that the job was completed safely while following the SWI procedures.

6. How do you plan to collaborate with your new colleagues and team members at TRG?

I work on a large crew on-site and I’d like to learn more from my experienced teammates, they have 10+ years of experience and can guide me and teach me more about the industry. The different work styles help us be more efficient, whilst still following the procedures.

7. Is there anything else you’d like to share with the TRG community or LinkedIn audience about yourself or your aspirations?

I’d like to learn more about tyre life and the costs that are involved OTR tyre management. It interests me as I know one tyre can cost around 60k.
