Get to know the faces behind TRG and learn about the diverse experiences and skills that contribute to our vibrant workplace culture.

1. Can you tell us about your journey and what brought you to the TRG Team?

I started tyre fitting in 2019, joining a traineeship program. Since then, I have worked in a variety of locations on a range of different machinery, specialising in HME equipment.

I joined TRG in 2023 as their reputation was outstanding within the Tyre community and I wanted to work alongside like-minded Tyre Fitters and further expand my knowledge. Working alongside the experience that TRG provided, I was able to develop my personal goals into achieving a leading hand role and subsequently a supervisory position at Roy Hill.

2. What are your primary responsibilities in your current role at Tyre Response Group?

As the Tyre Supervisor, I am pivotal to the success of daily operations and the development of a positive team culture on site.  I work closely alongside the Mobile Maintenance team to ensure efficient and safe work is conducted and that KPI’s are being met.

3. How would you describe your leadership style?

I like to see myself as an approachable leader that is there to help guide and support all team members. I focus around building a strong sense of camaraderie and creating a positive work environment.

I support my team with their own personal/professional growth and will provide the resources required to enable that.

4. What approaches do you take to develop a positive and productive team environment?

I communicate clearly with the team with set goals and targets. I build trust through reliability and openness and reward/recognise both individual and team achievements.

I will also socialise with my team outside of work hours, which helps build mutual respect.

5. What initiatives have you implemented to support your team’s professional development in The TRG Team?

I will rotate my team through to working alongside myself so that they can see firsthand the requirements of a supervisor and the day-to-day tasks that are key to the operations. I will help build their knowledge on the different software we utilise on site and will aid with training /development by sharing my own personal experiences/knowledge.

6. How do you stay updated with industry trends and innovations?

LinkedIn, and word of mouth. As part of my role, I spend a lot of time talking with industry leaders and looking at new ways we can advance the Tyre Industry and create safer work practices.

7. What are your personal and professional growth goals at Tyre Response Group?

I hope to continue building my own knowledge and experience within the industry as a Supervisor and work towards being able to step into it a Superintendent or Area Manager role.

8. What advice would you give someone aspiring to take on a management role in this industry?

Hard work and willingness to learn. Tyres are a forever evolving industry; you are learning new things every day. Be open to change and having a positive can-do attitude while excelling in your work. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Just be open about them and learn from them.

9. How do you manage work-life balance in a demanding role?

I make sure I create time to step away and enjoy my own personal time. Fortunately, we have a strong leadership group on site that enables me to enjoy my RnR with minimal distractions.

10. What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of work?

I enjoy playing golf and watching sports. I follow all sorts of sports and will regularly attend AFL games. I also spend my time with my partner and dogs relaxing at home and socialising with mates.
