Learn about what motivates the TRG Team in this month’s Meet The TRG Team with Sana Bahtić
At TRG, our success is built on the dedication and expertise of our team members. This time, we’re excited to introduce Sana Bahtić who has been making a big impact at TRG.
She’s the one managing the mobilisations, keeping things organised, and ensuring everything runs like clockwork. But her story is so much more than this.
Beyond her operational responsibilities, Sana is a co-founder of Women in the Tyre Industry (WITTI), an initiative dedicated to supporting and empowering women!
But what drives her? What’s it like managing deadlines and balancing the needs of clients and team members?
Curious to learn more about Sana’s journey, and how she contributes to TRG’s success?
Let’s get to know her better!
1. Can you share your career path and what led you to join TRG?
I started my career in the tyre industry as a Junior Operations Administrator. During my time there, I made a lot of connections and gained valuable experience. In July 2022, I made the move to Tyre Response Group (TRG) and haven’t looked back.
2. What roles have you previously held within the industry?
Since joining TRG, I’ve built more connections, learned new aspects of my role, and grown both personally and professionally. I have also co-founded Women in the Tyre Industry (WITTI), which is all about supporting and uplifting women in this male-dominated field. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m excited to keep learning and growing!
3. What are your primary responsibilities in the head office at TRG?
At TRG, my main responsibility is looking after our team on-site. I manage our fitters from recruitment through to mobilisation, handling their flights and accommodation, and ensuring they’re set up when they arrive. I manage rosters, coordinating who goes where and making sure everything runs smoothly. On top of that, I work closely with our clients to provide the best service, often within tight timeframes.
4. How does your role impact the daily operations and overall success of TRG?
My specialty is mobilisations, I’ve been doing it for almost five years and I’m confident working under pressure and meeting short deadlines. This expertise allows me to ensure our operations run efficiently and our clients receive great service.
5. How does your department collaborate with other teams within TRG?
I work closely with our on-site teams, managing crews across different sites, including Roy Hill, one of the largest mine sites in WA. I support Supervisors and Leading Hands with their day-to-day tasks, ensuring everything runs like clockwork.
6. What initiatives have you taken to improve team collaboration and communication?
Beyond Roy Hill, I also work with various clients across both one-man sites and larger crews. I stay in constant communication with my team to keep up with any changes and step in when needed. I’m lucky to work with such a great team, it’s a mutual effort, and we always look after each other.
7. What challenges do you encounter in your role, and how do you address them?
My job is always interesting, and I face new challenges every day. One of the biggest challenges is managing mobilisations on short deadlines, which means I’m constantly working to get everything organised as quickly as possible.
Personnel management is also a big part of my role, from handling rosters to ensuring everyone is where they need to be. Recruiting can be a challenge as well, finding the right people and getting them to the site smoothly takes a lot of coordination.
8. Can you share a significant achievement from your time at TRG’s head office?
A few of my achievements at work have been successfully organising new and upcoming sites, and ensuring efficient processes and operations. As the first point of contact for most of my fitters on-site, I have built strong personal relationships with my team, going beyond just work to truly get to know them.
9. What opportunities for professional development does TRG offer head staff?
At TRG, I’ve seen firsthand how fitters join the business and work their way up into leadership roles. As a small business, we can provide genuine support and development opportunities for our team. I strongly believe in treating our fitters as individuals, ensuring they feel valued and enjoy their work.
10. How do you plan to continue growing in your role at TRG?
I plan to grow in my role at TRG by continuously listening and learning from my peers while supporting the business in any way I can.
11. How do you maintain a healthy work-life balance while working in the head office?
I maintain a healthy work-life balance, enjoying my job while making the most of my time off. I love travelling and have visited many countries in the past few years, with plans to keep exploring while I can. I also enjoy being outdoors in general.
12. What activities do you enjoy outside of work to relax and recharge?
Fitness is a big part of my routine, I always try to stay active and make time for the gym after a day in the office.
13. What are your goals for the future with TRG?
My goals for the future with TRG are to continue working, growing, and learning within the industry. I am lucky to work alongside experienced professionals who support me and consistently share their knowledge with me. Every day, I gain new insights into tyre management, general tyre fitting, and the broader aspects of the industry, and I look forward to learning even more.
