What inspired you to join TRG, and what excites you most about your new role?

I have been in the tyre industry for 12 years, starting in my family’s shop at the age of 17. I wanted to reach the top of the tyre industry by working with OTR Tyres at Tyre Response Group.

What do you enjoy most about working in the OTR Tyre Industry?

I enjoy the variety of work and problem-solving on the job. I enjoy doing pit jobs, breakdowns, and anything that requires outside-of-the-box thinking to solve problems.

What attracted you to join Tyre Response Group?

I heard that TRG is a smaller business that cares about its workers and encourages career progression, and I wanted to be a part of that team.

How has your experience been with Tyre Response Group compared to other companies you’ve worked for?

My experience has been positive, and I’ve worked with a lot of great tyre fitters in the industry, and the management has been very supportive and encouraging.

Can you describe a memorable experience you’ve had while working at Tyre Response Group?

A memorable experience was at the TRG Christmas party because it reinforced the business’s family values. It was good to catch up with mates across different sites and crews and have a drink together.

What skills do you think are essential for someone to succeed as an OTR tyre fitter?

The essential skills for someone to succeed as an OTR tyre fitter are a good work ethic and the ability to stay calm in the face of fire (hot tyres), because the job can get challenging and it’s important to have patience.

How does Tyre Response Group support your professional growth and development?

TRG has allowed me to step up into leadership roles as well as have progression plans for the future. Because of TRG, I can confidently step up as a leading hand after a relatively short time in the mining industry

What makes Tyre Response Group stand out in the OTR Tyre Industry?

The quality of the tyre fitters across all of the crews. Each crew has plenty of experienced fitters so I can easily do my job with other fitters and rely on them to do the same.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in the OTR Tyre Industry?

It’s all about progressing; never think you know everything as you are learning something new every day.
